Do you work to feed or feed to work? | HSBC Virtual Open House

Having previously worked in both the Banking and Event industries, our Founder, Tiffany, is familiar with working around the clock and where the priority should be serving clients. We put ourselves in such a low priority because we feel like we don't have a choice. We no longer take care of ourselves and eat well. While we tend to think stress is a consequence, it is, in fact, a culture.
In the era of fast food culture and where takeaway becomes so convenient, we see food as our taste reward. Highly processed, high sugar and sodium... We forget the very fundamental fact that food is also our energy source. The quality of our energy affects not only our body, but also our mind. Poor diets PLUS stress will lead to poor gut health and may also lead to a higher risk of anxiety or depression.
When she would go through mood swings, she would externalise it all the time. But moods can also come from within. It's a reminder to yourself that you have not been taking care of yourself. Now when her mind starts to wander, she will make herself a cup of tea and eat something easy to digest. And as simple as that, it has been surprisingly good for her mind and body.

This is what led her to start her vegan journey - to see things from a different perspective. Fun fact - She never imagined becoming vegan - she thought it was boring too! Started as an experiment to prove it doesn't work to sharing her vegan journey...it's funny how karma gives you a life lesson.
So next time you're stressed, take a look at what you're putting into your body. It doesn't have to be vegan food but it has to be healthy. You owe it to yourself. Ask yourself: Is it the nourishment my body needs? Am I taking care of ME?
Thank you HSBC for the opportunity to share!
